Mihai Preda, PhD
Founder | Director | Curriculum Developer
A physicist and pianist educated at University of Miami and FIU, Mihai blends science and music to create an integrated, brain-based teaching method. He co-created the Brain-Based Piano Method and founded Miami Piano Studio, earning the Steinway & Sons Top Studio Award in 2012.
Leidys Monascal, M.S.
Co-Creator | Lead Teacher | Community Program Coordinator
Leidys hails from Venezuela’s El Sistema program and holds a Master’s in Music Education from FIU. With over 10 years teaching experience, she co-developed the Brain-Based Piano Method and coordinates community outreach through Coral Gables Junior Music Club.
Kalinka Volshaninova
Piano Instructor | Visual Artist | Performer
Born into a world-renowned Romani artistic family, Kalinka has performed globally as a singer, musician, and dancer since childhood. She studied piano and music in Russia and now teaches at Miami Piano Studio, blending her passion for the arts into both piano instruction and illustration.
Daniel Manoiu, D.M.A.
Composer in Residence | Piano & Theory Instructor
Born in Bucharest, Daniel won international competitions and performed at Carnegie and the UN. He earned a DMA in Composition from University of Miami, composes for film and ensemble, and serves as Composer in Residence and professor at Miami Piano Studio.
Silvije Vidovic, D.M.A.
Artist Instructor | Performance Coach
A Croatian-born pianist and scholar, Silvije earned a DMA from University of North Texas and won numerous international competitions. He records professionally, co-founded the Karlovac Piano Festival, and is currently a faculty member at Florida International University.

Piano Instructor | Brain-Based Method Specialist | Performer
A Venezuelan musician and performer, Eddie brings vibrant energy and deep musical knowledge to every lesson. He teaches piano, theory, and improvisation using the Brain-Based Piano Method and regularly performs in the studio’s theatrical recitals, inspiring students through both education and stage storytelling.
Monserrat Escobio Llanos
Musicologist | Educator | Piano & Voice Instructor
A graduate of the University of the Arts of Cuba, Monserrat is a skilled musicologist and interdisciplinary educator. At Miami Piano Studio, she teaches piano and voice through the Brain-Based Method, integrating music history, theory, and research to help students explore their creativity and musical identity.
Yaritzy Cabrera
Flute Instructor | Orchestral Musician | Workshop Leader
Trained through Venezuela’s Youth Orchestra System, Yaritzy has performed internationally with the Simón Bolívar Symphony under Gustavo Dudamel. A current flutist with the Miami Symphony Orchestra, she brings world-class experience to her teaching, inspiring young musicians through workshops and ensemble performance.
